Every employer is required by law to appoint at least one competent health and safety person to help them meet their legal health and safety obligations?

Under the Management of Health & Safety Regulations 1999, any employer who has not done this is in breach of their statutory duty under health and safety legislation and therefore becomes liable to criminal prosecution.

What is our competent person advisory service?

Our team of highly qualified, CMIOSH and OHSCR registered health and safety practitioners will deliver an expert advisory service for a full 12 months, providing all of the expert, jargon-free advice and on demand phone and email support your business needs to stay on the straight and narrow.

This service includes:

• A letter of engagement for our External Competent Advisory Service. Valid for an entire year, this is provided in PDF format making it ideal for including within tender submissions and for displaying within your office.
• A CV of your nominated competent person.
• A telephone helpline providing business hours support, covering any health and safety issues which you may encounter in your company’s daily scope of work.
• Guidance via email, providing on-demand support covering any health and safety questions and queries you might have, giving your Nominated Responsible Person step-by-step guidance on how to address issues as they arise.
• Updated advice as health and safety legislation changes.
• Regular informative newsletters with general and construction advice and legislation date changes (where applicable).
