About Andrea

A former Sector Commander with the British Transport Police, Andrea spent 27 years in law enforcement and a further 4 at Network Rail – 1 of as Head of Crime and Security for the North West and Central region – before joining The HSQE Partnership in July 2022.

Highly respected within the law enforcement and private sectors, and a qualified Rail Incident Commander, Andrea brings decades of crime and security experience to the table, having worked extensively with the RSSB, and Department for Transport, not to mention the Centre for Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) and a variety of specialist infrastructure and counter terrorism departments.

Heading up a long-term covert police operation into the purchasing of stolen cable from the railway, she was also the first senior officer on scene at the Manchester Arena terrorism attack, leading and commanding police first responders in line with a major incident protocol.

Key responsibilities

• Investigations and major incident management
• Cable and metal theft prevention and risk mitigation
• Ensuring the security of the rail infrastructure, including depots and compounds
• Ensuring the security of those individuals working on and using the rail infrastructure
• Liaising with law enforcement, security professionals, and private organisations
• Assessing security provisions, identifying threats and vulnerabilities
• Developing bespoke security strategies to assess those issues, tailored to the unique requirements of the organisation
